<< Thought… a wonderful tool for traveling far beyond any physical space…; so that one may try to understand…>>
Discourse on the Opera
The work is a metaphorical reflection on the power of thought and knowledge.
A window, a symbol of an opening to the world, an attempt to see… an attempt to make a reflection…
On a table rests a text, a symbol of human culture and its desire to seek and understand the meaning of everything.
Floating near the text are the three fundamental geometric shapes (square, triangle, circle), the foundation and symbol of countless aspects of knowledge.
Something animates the whole scene…
A human figure emerges from the text; its eyes, wide open into the void, are the very expression of the act of thinking.
This thought manifests as a flow of energy that animates the sculpture: it springs from the text, turns its pages, and guides them on an upward journey directly toward that window, a symbol of the understanding and the “vista” that each of us seeks.
