Photo gallery of sculptural works, created on commission, for the Sanctuary of Saint Roch in Torrepaduli (Lecce).
The first is a sculpture made of okoume wood, depicting an angel (putto) with a hat (a symbol of the pilgrimage of Saint Roch), set within a niche with floral motifs along its borders.
In the upper part, a crown has been carved, covered in gold leaf and embellished with oil-painted gems.
The work is located on the upper part of an interior doorway of the Sanctuary, to the side of the altar. To enhance it fully, it has been placed on a sunburst-effect background in relief, specifically designed to give depth and prominence to the entire sculpture.
For the back of the doorway, a coat of arms was designed and sculpted in okoume wood, depicting the tower that symbolizes the town of Torrepaduli.
